Shifting career narrative
– Chris* brought a wealth of diverse life and career experiences when he connected with The Happy Mondays Co. He had worked as a ski instructor, managed warehouses, excelled in customer service, and most recently, served as the sales and operations manager at GoPro Australia. Relocating to Singapore with his family, Chris faced the challenge of adapting to a new country, being the primary caregiver, and completing his diploma. In this phase, he reached out to us. Collaborating closely with Chris, we helped him craft a clear career strategy that harmonised his varied background. By effectively showcasing his skills, emphasising transferability, and weaving a compelling personal narrative, Chris gained the confidence to secure his initial position in Singapore: the role of Regional Operations Manager at Food Panda. Still utilising the skills he learned from our program, Chris went on to achieve an impressive internal promotion within just 18 months before transitioning to a role at Apple within the supply chain domain, while consistently harnessing the expertise he had gained.

From inner critic to inner champion
– Sandy* reached out to The Happy Mondays Co after starting her new role at Google. The pressure of the new role and the culture difference led to self-doubt about herself and her competency for the role. Ultimately, it left her feeling unhappy, struggling to sleep and impacting her personal life. We worked with Sandy to unpack fears around saying “no”, being judged, and utilised tactical approaches to manage it. We worked with her to assess priorities of what’s on her plate vs additional support, understanding what can be delegated, and asking for resources. A workplace win happened when she was about to go on holiday and her boss delegated a project to her at the last minute while shortening the turnaround time. It was an impossible task for one person. Sandy confidently, and politely, said “no” while also finding a solution to satisfy her boss’ needs and maintain her boundary of heading on her planned holiday.

Journey to Chief of Staff
– Val* an experienced Executive Assistant in tech, found herself in a new startup role after years in a toxic, micromanaging work environment. Despite the healthier work culture led by easy-going British executives, she struggled with imposter syndrome as an Asian woman in a predominantly male space. We worked with Val on how to navigate this newfound autonomy. She soon realised that it’s okay to say, “I’ll get back to you on this.” With her new job demanding just 8-hour days compared to the 12-14 hours previously, she even discovered time for hobbies. Within six months, Val not only passed her probation but was fast-tracked to the role of Chief of Staff—a position she aspired to. She’s now navigating the ups and downs with confidence and enjoying a fulfilling work-life balance.

Transformation from Lawyer to COO
– After 8 years in law, Neve* was deeply unhappy. Previous career coaches pigeonholed her into either law firms or internal legal roles. Neve craved an unstructured environment where she could bring order. She had a knack for negotiation, a commercial mindset, and quantitative skills—assets that were underutilised in her legal career. Through our career strategy program, we identified Neve’s transferrable skills and passions. We helped her pivot into an Investor Relations Management role in a Singaporean tech startup, tapping into her legal background and other strengths.Neve not only excelled in Singapore but later relocated to Canada, where she became the COO of another startup. This career journey proves that the skills she honed with us have equipped her for successful pivots in the future.

The Happy Mondays Co career coaching was founded in 2016 with a mission to make the world a better place for professionals, one Happy Monday at a time.

Our career coaching is based on the belief that everyone has something unique to offer. We meet you wherever you are on your career journey to grow in ways that are purposeful, values aligned and supports your personal and professional goals.

We hold space and provide resources and tools for professionals across diverse industries and functions to explore and create their own long-lasting, Happy Mondays.

Meet Our Founder & Chief Career Coach

Hi, I’m Sandra!

Your chief career coach and founder of The Happy Mondays co.

Like many of you who have found your way here, I had my own career journey to go through. I founded The Happy Mondays Co in 2016 after hitting a wall in my own career as a headhunter. I was burnt out, lacking support and unsure of how to get what I want within the parameters of the role that I was in.

I realised there were 3 core foundations that were missing:

  1. I was not doing purposeful work
  2. There was a major values misalignment
  3. My personal and professional goals were not supported

Through many years of refining and continual addition, The Happy Mondays Co Signature Framework was created. I’m so grateful I get to wake up every day and support you in creating your own Happy Mondays.

Whether you woke up one day wondering, “What’s next?” or if you’re heading back to work after a break, we’re here to support and challenge you on your journey.
