We have some news worth sharing.
The Happy Mondays Co, a career and executive coaching company supporting clients across Singapore and Australia, has been featured in Top 10 of Asia's list of Southeast Asia's Top 10 Most Inspiring Career Coaching Companies in 2026. The list recognises organisations across the region that help people find clarity in their careers, build on their strengths, and move towards work that actually fits them.
The other firms featured are spread across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines. It is good company to be in.
But recognition on its own does not do much for anyone. So rather than simply announcing it and moving on, we wanted to use this as a chance to talk about what actually sits behind the work, and what we think matters when you are choosing who to trust with your career.
The feature highlighted a few things about how we work, and they happen to be the things we care most about.
The first is that we do not do one-size-fits-all. Career advice is everywhere, and most of it is generic by design, because generic scales. Our approach runs the other way. We start by understanding where someone actually is: their aspirations, their strengths, the specific thing that is stuck. Only then do we build a pathway.
The second is the breadth of the team. We are not a single coach with a single method. We bring together career, executive, leadership and wellbeing coaches, which means the person you work with is matched to what you actually need rather than to what happens to be available.
The third is the grounding. Our backgrounds sit across recruitment, employer branding and HR, and our methodology draws on neuroscience and behavioural psychology rather than motivational theory. That combination is deliberate. We want to know how hiring decisions really get made, and we want to know why people get stuck in the first place.
The recognition places The Happy Mondays Co. alongside career coaching organisations from across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines. For us, what matters most is not simply being included on a list, but that the feature recognised the parts of our approach we have deliberately built around: personalised coaching, a multidisciplinary team, and advice grounded in how careers and hiring actually work.
If you are reading this while weighing up whether coaching is worth it, or which coach to go with, here is the honest guidance we would give even if you never worked with us.
Ask about the method, not the outcome. Any coach can point to a happy client. Fewer can explain the process that got them there, or why that process would apply to your situation. If the answer is vague, that is information.
Check whether they know your market. Career coaching in Singapore is not career coaching in London. Local hiring practices, notice periods, employer expectations and the realities of mid-career transition all shape what useful advice looks like. A coach who does not know the market is giving you advice built for somewhere else.
Look for someone who will disagree with you. The most useful sessions are rarely the comfortable ones. If a coach only ever affirms your existing plan, you are paying for validation rather than progress.
Be clear about what stage you are at. Someone considering a first move at 30 needs something different from someone rebuilding at 50, or from a newly promoted leader learning to manage former peers. The right support is stage-specific.
We would rather you asked these questions and chose someone else than worked with us for the wrong reasons. We have written a fuller guide on what to look for when hiring a career coach.
Over the years we have supported hundreds of professionals through career transitions, leadership challenges and the quieter question of whether the work they are doing still fits the life they want.
That work runs across our career coaching programmes for people navigating a change or a plateau, our leadership coaching for those stepping into bigger roles, and the wider set of services we offer across Singapore and Australia.
The through line is our Happy Mondays™ Methodology: Discover, where we understand what is really going on, Learn, where we build a strategy that fits you specifically, and Grow, where we stay with you while you put it into practice. The last part matters more than people expect. Insight is easy. Follow-through is where careers actually change.
To every client who has trusted us with a difficult decision, and to the team who do this work every day, thank you. Recognition like this reflects your progress far more than it reflects ours.
If you are somewhere in the middle of your own career question, whether that is a move you cannot quite commit to, a role that has stopped fitting, or a step up you are not sure you are ready for, we would be glad to talk it through.
